*Double Sided Wood: All of our double sided woods are to industry standard. The veneers on either side of the wood may differ in hue of color and grain pattern, which is due to the way the wood is cut and the origin of the tree. This is particularly true of the Red Oak and African Mahogany.
Red Oak is straight grained and coarse textured, with less figure than White Oak due to smaller rays. It has light brown to pink coloring with a reddish tinge. It is a very popular wood to use for projects. It stains and finishes well.
Laser Compatibility: All Diode and CO2. Note: Glowforge does not recommend using MDF in the Aura or Spark. We have tested the MDF and it cuts well but creates more particulate matter which can raise issues with the filter. Venting outside seems to be fine as well as cleaning the machine after but you can decide if MDF is used in your Spark or Aura
