Sapele heartwood is a medium to fairly dark reddish brown to purplish brown; sapwood whitish or pale yellow. Sapele grain is interlocked and and sometimes wavy. It is also known for a wide variety of other figured grain patterns, such as: pommele, quilted, mottled, wavy, beeswing, and fiddleback. It is beautiful rubbed with Tung oil bringing out the unique grains.
Laser Compatibility: All Diode and CO2. Note: Glowforge does not recommend using MDF in the Aura or Spark. We have tested the MDF and it cuts well but creates more particulate matter which can raise issues with the filter. Venting outside seems to be fine as well as cleaning the machine after but you can decide if MDF is used in your Spark or Aura
